What we do

A fireplace worth building a room around

A fireplace is the natural focal point of a room, and stone makes it more. We fabricate full surrounds, hearths, mantels, and floor-to-ceiling feature walls from a single slab or a coordinated set.

We template your fireplace precisely after the contract is signed, capturing the opening, the hearth, and any mantel. Then we cut, edge, polish and seal the stone in our own Hopkinton shop. Installation happens in a single day, and you sign off before the crew leaves.

The details that make a surround

Hearth and surround

The hearth (floor in front) and the surround (the frame around the opening) can be the same stone or complementary. We plan both as one piece.

Mantel integration

If you have a wood or stone mantel, we template around it. A full stone mantel can be cut from the same slab for a continuous look.

Heat tolerance

Natural stone and porcelain handle heat well. Quartz can scorch near the opening, so we recommend natural stone or porcelain for the immediate surround.
